Everyone loves viral videos. They catch our attention, make us laugh, make us think, make us cry...and sometimes, they even piss us off.

So I figured it'd be fun to start an ongoing blog theme featuring the Internet's top viral videos. I'll try to post as much as possible (as time allows), thus, adding a new "Top Viral Videos" blog post every now and then.

Of course, there'll be no limitations on what type of videos I'll include. If they're viral, I'll post them. Music, sports, comedy, inspiration, whatever. Some old, some new. Anyway, here we go with the first few viral videos...

Being a huge music lover, I used to think it was extremely important. It wasn't till I spent almost a year at the Den of Iniquity, Los Angeles, that I came to realize it wasn't.

At DOI, there was only one CD player jam box for all 6 playrooms and the staff lounge. I often would start a session only to realize I forgot the stereo and didn't want to interrupt the session to get the stereo. We were above Hollywood Blvd so there was always the hiss of traffic just below; it sounded much like the sound of surf...

I've come to find that it isn't always easy to find music that feels right at the present moment but the white noise of the city and the sound of the freeway in the distance is always harmonizes with any scene perfectly (except when it's too quiet outside and someone on the street starts shouting).

Unlike most sites, we're not afraid to admit to a couple of technical issues. IMHO, honesty IS the best policy...and covering things up is just bullshit, plain and simple.

That's why I like to keep an open dialog with you regarding any and all current site issues.

As you know, we're still in the BETA phase, so a certain number of issues are always to be expected. Nonetheless, I don't think it's right (or fair) to keep them from you. So here we go...

BadVelvet™ Current Issues:

• Profile Pictures - As you may know, the profile pic upload function was on the fritz recently, and some of our new members have had trouble uploading their profile pictures.

Status: Good news...it's fixed! That's right, the profile pic upload function is now working as it should. So if you don't have a profile picture, be sure that you upload one!

NOTE: We'll eventually be freezing any member profiles that don't have a profile picture, so be sure to upload one as soon as you can. Any pic will do - it doesn't have to be an actual photo of you. Just put something up that people can look at. ;)

How-to: To upload a profile picture, just click on the "My Page" link in the main navigation bar. From there, look to the right-hand side of the page where it lists (in the dark pink box) your different profile options, and just follow logically from there.

Click the "Change Picture" link, and upload your profile pic. It's as easy as that!

NOTE: If you have any problems uploading a profile picture, be sure to let us know via the "Contact" form. Please specify exactly what problem/problems you had, as well as which web browser you're using (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, etc.).

• Video Uploads - The video upload function is still being worked on and improved. Because of this, you may occasionally experience errors when attempting to upload videos to BadVelvet.com. A video encoding error is one of them.

Status: Currently being worked on. UPDATE: Video uploads are working fairly well now. Some issues still persist, but we'll get them fixed soon enough.

For now, and until it's in 100% working order, I suggest adding your videos to the XXX Adult Forums section...instead of trying to upload them directly.

And really, that's a MUCH better deal for you anyway, since you can actually make $$$ with your videos (and pics) in the forums area! If you simply upload them, then there's no way to make money from them.

But if you post them in the forums section, you can certainly make money from them!

Just a quick update on some things we’re working to fix:

UPDATE: Full update is here.

Profile pictures: If you tried to upload a profile picture recently, you probably noticed that it‘s not working correctly all the time. We are aware of the profile picture upload issue and are currently working on it to get it fixed. Status: Fixed!

Video encoding: Video encoding for uploaded videos is lagging some…and sometimes not working properly at all. We’re working to fix that as well. Status: Video uploads are working fairly well now. Some issues still persist, but we'll get them corrected soon enough.

The good news is that embedding videos works just fine, so if you want to add some videos, you can certainly do so by embedding them from other sites.

To do this, just go to the video section and click the “Share Video” link on the right-hand side of the page. From there, you can either enter the URL of a video (from YouTube, MetaCafe or DailyMotion), or share one from any other site by pasting the video embed code in the box.

Note that there will be no thumbnail preview generated for embedded videos, but they will play just the same.

Anyway, just wanted to keep you up-to-date on the issues at hand and let you know that we're working to get them fixed.

New Profile Page Customization - HTML now enabled!

Need more customization for your personal page? Well, you got it! Now you can add new stuff to your profile page...which includes HTML! That's right, HTML is now enabled on your personal profile page. This new HTML-enabled feature allows you to add widgets and whatnot to your profile page so you can really design it to show off what's important to you. :)

How-to: Just click the "Add New Block" link at the bottom of your profile page to add whatever legal content you want to! This new feature allows you to add widgets, embed videos from other sites, add links to your profile, etc. The options are pretty much limitless.

Basically, this new feature allows you to have a whole lot more control over your personal page (what it features and how it looks), so you can design it to feature and show off the things that are important and relevant to you! And that's important to us. Enjoy! :)

New Drag and Drop Feature - On profile pages

I've also implemented a new drag-and-drop feature to your personal profile page. This feature will improve usability and flexibility within your profile page, and allow you to design/customize your profile page with a heck of a lot more ease. :)

How-to: To move the blocks around in your profile, just click the block's title (mouse-over and hold left-click down), then move (drag) it around in your profile to wherever you want it to be. You can very easily design your profile using with this new feature. Put profile blocks in whatever order you want, and on whatever side of your page you want! There's nothing easier than drag-and-drop! :)
