Just a quick update on some things we’re working to fix:

UPDATE: Full update is here.

Profile pictures: If you tried to upload a profile picture recently, you probably noticed that it‘s not working correctly all the time. We are aware of the profile picture upload issue and are currently working on it to get it fixed. Status: Fixed!

Video encoding: Video encoding for uploaded videos is lagging some…and sometimes not working properly at all. We’re working to fix that as well. Status: Video uploads are working fairly well now. Some issues still persist, but we'll get them corrected soon enough.

The good news is that embedding videos works just fine, so if you want to add some videos, you can certainly do so by embedding them from other sites.

To do this, just go to the video section and click the “Share Video” link on the right-hand side of the page. From there, you can either enter the URL of a video (from YouTube, MetaCafe or DailyMotion), or share one from any other site by pasting the video embed code in the box.

Note that there will be no thumbnail preview generated for embedded videos, but they will play just the same.

Anyway, just wanted to keep you up-to-date on the issues at hand and let you know that we're working to get them fixed.
